Baylor’s Tyler Isgrig (co-offensive) and TCU’s Seven Castain (co-offensive) headlined Week Five’s weekly Big 12 soccer honors, while West Virginia’s Roxanne Vilain earned the defensive player weekly accolade. BYU’s Paiton Collins (goalkeeper), along with Arizona State’s Addison Baltodano (co-freshman) and Oklahoma State’s Emmy Hedden (co-freshman), rounded out the week’s selections.
Isgrig captured her second consecutive weekly Big 12 honor after scoring both of the Bears’ goals against Abilene Christian in the 2-0 victory to close out the non-conference slate undefeated (5-0-2) for the first time since its inaugural season in 1996. The brace was her second straight multi-goal performance, following her performance at Texas State. Isgrig leads BU with nine points and four goals this season.
Castain marked her fifth career multi-goal game with a brace in TCU’s 2-1 win over Gonzaga. The senior scored her first goal in the first half before her header in the 80
th minute was credited as the game-winner. Castain has earned 12 points in seven contests, the fourth-most registered by a Big 12 player. This is her second honor this season after being recognized Aug. 27.
Vilain played all 90 minutes as the WVU defense shut out an in-state rival on the road. Facing Marshall for the first time in over a decade, the Mountaineers earned a 2-0 road win. WVU held the Thundering Herd to zero shots on goal on three total shot opportunities, the second straight game and the third time this season a WVU opponent has finished a game with zero shots on target. This is Vilain’s first Big 12 honor, while the junior is the third player from WVU to earn a weekly selection from the league in three consecutive weeks.
Collins was tabbed as the Big 12’s best goalkeeper last week after collecting four saves and holding Utah Valley scoreless. In the final few minutes of the match, a UVU free kick was tipped off the top crossbar by Collins to prevent a goal from being scored. She earned her fourth shutout of the season as the Cougars won 2-0 at home.
Baltodano earned three points in ASU’s final non-conference game of the 2025 campaign against UTEP. The freshman recorded an assist in the 59
th minute before she scored ASU’s final goal of the match in the 85
th minute. She registered her second consecutive game with an assist, while her goal was the second of her career in eight appearances. Baltodano is the first Sun Devil to earn a Big 12 weekly award this season.
In her collegiate debut, Hedden tallied a goal and an assist during the Cowgirls’ 5-1 win at East Texas A&M. Missing the first seven games due to injury, the freshman dished out an assist at the 13-minute mark before she launched a 35-yard strike to upper 90 less than five minutes later as her first career goal.
