IRVING, Texas – The 2025 NFL season will feature a total of 272 former student-athletes from Big 12 Conference schools on NFL rosters and practice squads when the Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles kick off on Thursday, Sept. 5.
TCU and Utah lead all Big 12 schools with 31 and 28 players, respectively, with NFL clubs on opening day with Iowa State, Oklahoma State and Cincinnati rounding out Conference programs with 20 or more representatives on NFL teams. Big 12 alumni in the NFL also includes Kansas City head coach Andy Reid, a BYU alum, who is entering his 13th season with the Chiefs.
The newest class of Big 12 additions to the NFL include selections from the 2025 NFL Draft, including top-10 picks Travis Hunter from Colorado and Tetairoa McMillan from Arizona. The 31 draft selections matched the Conference’s highest total since 2005, and broke Big 12 records with seven running backs and eight wide receivers selected.
