Arizona State’s Andy Dobrzanski (men’s swimmer), Adam Chaney (men’s newcomer), Alexa Reyna (women’s co-swimmer) and Albane Cachot (women’s newcomer) were joined by Arizona’s Julia Wozniak (women’s co-swimmer) and Luke Hernandez (men’s diver) and Houston’s Michelle McLeod (women’s diver) as the recipients of the league’s weekly swimming and diving awards.
Dobrzanski swept the breaststroke events at the Big 12 West Showdown, posting personal bests in both the 100 breaststroke (51.00) and 200 breaststroke (1:50.95) while also contributing on each of the Sun Devils’ medley relays as the breaststroke leg. The senior added a 50.45 split on ASU’s winning 400 medley relay and a 23.20 split on the 200 medley relay to help secure a runner-up finish. This is the second time that Dobrzanski has been named the Big 12 Men’s Swimmer of the Week.
Hernandez collected gold medals in all three events he participated in at the Big 12 West Championships. The Holly Springs, N.C. native won the 1-meter (332.45) and 3-meter (369.30) dives before helping Arizona secure the top spot in the team diving event with a team score of 363.75. It is the third Conference weekly award for the freshman this season.
Chaney won both backstroke races at the West Showdown, capturing the 100 backstroke (44.68) and 200 backstroke (1:41.46) titles. The graduate transfer also provided relay contributions with times of 44.60 in the 100 backstroke leg of the winning 400 medley relay and 20.72 in the 50 backstroke leg of the winning 200 medley relay. He added a 42.09 100 freestyle split to help the Sun Devils win the 400 freestyle relay.
Wozniak highlighted her weekend with a personal best in the 100 freestyle (48.36) to earn a runner-up finish while also accumulating four medals in relays. She helped the Wildcats win both the 200 freestyle relay (21.52 split) and 400 medley relay (47.79 split), while adding a 49.01 split on the 400 free relay that finished in third. She added another bronze medal as the anchor in Arizona’s 200 medley relay (21.76 split).
Reyna posted season-best marks in the 500 freestyle (4:44.12) and 1650 freestyle (16:18.07). The 2025 Big 12 500 freestyle champion recorded the fastest times in both events for ASU. She is the fourth Sun Devil this season to earn a share of the Big 12 Women’s Swimmer of the Week award.
McLeod finished as the top scorer on two boards at the Big 12 East Showdown, winning the 3-meter dive (356.20) and platform dive (293.70) events while adding a runner-up performance on the 1-meter (308.35). The junior from Alberta secured Houston’s top finishes in each discipline, helping the Cougars finish atop the women’s standings at the Big 12 East Showdown with a score of 1292.
Cachot took home gold medals in the 100 freestyle (48.32) and 200 freestyle (1:45.63) at the Big 12 West Showdown. The freshman also earned second-place finishes in the 50 free (22.44), 400 medley relay (47.91 anchor split) and 200 free relay (22.15 anchor split). It is her second Big 12 Women’s Newcomer of the Week selection in three weeks.
