Florida’s Hamilton Headlines Week Three Big 12 Lacrosse Honors

Florida’s Clark Hamilton (attack) headlines the week three Big 12 lacrosse award winners as the sophomore claimed National Player of the Week honors by the IWLCA.

Sam Hughes (defender) joins her teammate as the two Gators to earn week three league accolades, while Lexie Wolfe (midfielder) and Morgan Handzel (draw specialist) obtained honors for Cincinnati.

Colorado’s Elena Oh (goalkeeper) and UC Davis’ Ava Horrocks (freshman) round out the week three honorees.

Hamilton totaled a combined 11 goals and six assists (17 points) on 17 shots and scored the game-winning goal in both games against No. 8 Clemson and No. 19 Loyola. Her 11 points against Loyola became the most by a sophomore in a game in program history. It marked Hamilton's first National Player of the Week honor of her career, and fourth overall player of the week honor, as she was named Big 12 Freshman of the Week three times in 2025.

Hughes anchored the UF defense to two top-20 victories. The junior from Castle Rock, Colorado held Loyola’s key offensive threat, Ava Kane, to her only scoreless game of the season. Against the Tigers, Hughes matched up with Alexa Spallina, who entered the contest No. 3 in Division I in points per game (7.5) and as the nation’s leader in assists (20). Spallina was held to just one goal and one assist by Hughes. This is her first Big 12 weekly recognition.

Wolfe scored five goals during the week in two Cincinnati victories over Central Michigan and Robert Morris. The senior had a hat trick against the Chippewas, while she tallied four ground balls against RMU. This is her second career Big 12 weekly honor and first of the season.

Handzel tallied 20 draw controls over the two matchups during the week, including a game-high 12 against CMU. This is her second Conference award of the season.

Oh claims her third consecutive Big 12 Goalkeeper of the Week title after allowing just three goals in over 50 minutes against Towson. The sophomore from Chapel Hill, North Carolina surpassed 100 career saves and enters the week third in the NCAA with a 5.96 GAA.

Horrocks contributed in all aspects of the Aggie offense with five goals and five assists. The product of Danville, California scored her second career hat trick against Cal, exceeding her previous mark with an additional goal for a career high of four scores en route to securing her first weekly league award.
