GREENSBORO, N.C. – Two more Big 12 Championship records fell on Friday at the 2026 Big 12 Swimming & Diving Championship presented by Allstate inside the Greensboro Aquatic Center. The Sun Devils remain atop both standings with 1,227.5 points on the women’s side and 1.373.5 in the men’s events.
Arizona State’s Deniz Ertan captured the women’s 200 butterfly crown with a winning time of 1:56.31. She was joined by her teammate Julia Ullmann, who reached the wall second at 1:57.29, while Houston’s Sydney Nethercutt pocketed the bronze with a time of 1:57.62. On the men’s side, ASU’s Ilya Kharun delivered one of the night’s fastest swims, winning the 200 butterfly in 1:37.70 to break the nine-year-old Big 12 Championship record. Arizona’s Haakon Naughton placed second in 1:39.22, with fellow Wildcat Joel Nace finishing third at 1:43.41.
In the women’s 100 breaststroke, Cincinnati’s Joleigh Crye claimed the Conference title in 58.02, holding off Arizona’s Eleni Gewalt (58.56) and her teammate Lindi Worrell, who touched in 59.34. The men’s 100 breaststroke belonged to Arizona State, as all three medals went to the Sun Devils. Andy Dobrzanski led the charge with a 51.32 performance. Lucien Vergnes (51.65) and Jonathan Itzhaki (52.18) completed the podium sweep for ASU.
The women’s 100 backstroke saw Houston’s Alexia Duncan secure first place with a time of 52.31, ahead of Arizona’s pair of Lila Lillie (52.76) and Kayman Neal (52.85). On the men’s side, Arizona State’s Adam Chaney secured the title in 44.13. Two Wildcat freshmen reached the wall after Chaney as Duncan Henderson (44.97) and Alex Desangles (46.25) gave Arizona the silver and bronze medals, respectively.
In the lone diving event of the evening, Arizona’s Gage Dubois took home the gold medal in the men’s platform dive (383.60). Luke Hernandez added the silver medal to Arizona’s collection with a score of 371.45, while TCU’s Bryn James recorded a score of 352.10.
The night ended with the 200 yard freestyle relay. Arizona’s women’s team took the top spot, outpacing the field with a time of 1:27.33. Arizona State finished runner-up in 1:29.47, while Cincinnati took home the bronze medal (1:30.22). The men ended the night with another Big 12 Championship meet and Conference record being broken. Arizona State’s relay touched the wall in a record-setting time of 1:12.98, followed by Arizona in 1:16.18 and TCU in 1:17.88.
Through Friday’s finals, Arizona State leads both standings, followed by Arizona (1,242.5) and Utah (1058) in the men’s standings. In the women’s standings, Arizona sits with the second most points (997.5), while Houston has earned the third most (815.5). The top four finishers in each individual event earned All-Big 12 First Team honors, while fifth through eighth place finishers were named to the Second Team. Full results can be viewed
