TCU’s Marta Suarez (player) and Kansas’ Jaliya Davis (freshman) collected the final weekly accolades for the 2025-26 Big 12 women’s basketball season. Davis’ nine straight Big 12 Freshman of the Week awards are the most consecutive weekly freshman titles by any Power Conference player all-time.

Davis and Suarez were joined by BYU's Delaney Gibb, ISU's Audi Crooks and OSU's Achol Akot on this week's Big 12 Starting Five, which highlights strong performances from around the league.

Suarez averaged 26.5 points, 10.0 rebounds, three assists and three steals per game in a week that saw TCU repeat as the outright Big 12 women’s basketball regular season champions. The forward from Oviedo, Spain scored a career-high 32 points in TCU’s 83-70 road victory over Cincinnati to start the week. Suarez then led all players with 21 points and 11 rebounds in the Horned Frogs’ 65-53 win against then-No. 18 Baylor that clinched the outright league title for TCU. The graduate student shot 51.4% from the field during the week and 64.3% from beyond the arc as the Horned Frogs became the first team in league history to win back-to-back regular season championships within three seasons of finishing in last place. This is her second Big 12 weekly honor of the season.

Davis averaged 18.0 points per game with 7.0 rebounds per game over the final week of the regular season. The freshman phenom recorded her second career double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds in KU’s senior night victory over then-No. 20 Texas Tech. Davis posted 24 points in a road matchup with Oklahoma State, as the Overland Park, Kansas native finished the regular season having scored double figures in every game of her debut year. Her 21.0 points per game are the most among freshmen nationally this season, and Davis is the only Power Conference freshman averaging over 20 points per game. Davis’ nine Freshman of the Week honors are the third most all-time by a league freshman.

Gibb led the Cougars to a pair of wins this week while averaging 25.0 points per game, 6.5 assists per game and 6.5 rebounds per game. The two wins helped BYU to its highest finish in the league standings since joining the Conference in 2023. Crooks put up 41 points against K-State, the fifth 40-point game of her career, matching Brittney Griner as the Big 12 career leader. Crooks is the only player in the country with multiple 40-point performances this season. Akot helped OSU to a 2-0 week where the junior from Ottawa, Ontario averaged 21.5 points per game and 9.5 rebounds per game, including a career-high 25 points and 10 rebounds as the Cowgirls picked up their first win in Ames since 2018.
