UC Davis took home three weekly Big 12 lacrosse awards as Rhea Cosand (attack), Emily Altshuler (goalkeeper) and Ava Horrocks (freshman) procured honors. Colorado’s Lily Assini (midfielder) and Jess Peluso (draw specialist), along with Florida’s Theresa Bragg (defender) join the Aggie trio in picking up week eight league accolades.

Cosand led the Aggies with seven total points after tallying three goals and four assists in a 15-8 win against Cincinnati in the league opener. It was the senior’s second hat trick of the year.

Altshuler picked up her fifth win of the campaign as UC Davis took down Cincinnati. The sophomore posted a career-high with 16 saves. This is her second weekly league honor in the past three weeks.

Horrocks had three goals and two assists against the Bearcats to set her season high of five points. It marked the second hat trick of the season for the freshman from Danville, California. This is her second Freshman of the Week title this season.

Assini led the Buffaloes to a 1-0 start in Big 12 play with four goals and six points in a 16-5 CU win over San Diego State. The senior picked up one ground ball and had two assists while reaching 100 career points.

Peluso led the league-opening matchup against the Aztecs with eight draw controls. The senior from East Islip, New York had five caused turnovers in the Colorado victory. This is her first Draw Specialist of the Week honor this season and her fourth weekly Conference recognition of the season. 

Bragg anchored the Florida defense in a 14-8 win over Arizona State. Bragg recorded two crucial caused turnovers and two ground balls. The senior played a key role in limiting Arizona State’s offensive production as she was tasked with guarding ASU’s Jordyn Behar throughout the game.
