Six Big 12 Track and Field Athletes Claim National Titles at the 2026 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships

Big 12 track and field programs concluded their 2026 outdoor seasons after four days of competition held at Oregon's Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.

On the women’s side, Iowa State finished sixth overall with 30 points, while the K-State men finished eighth overall after tallying 30 points.

The Conference collected six individual titles over the week, along with two silver and six bronze medals.

BYU’s Taylor Lovell took home the women’s steeplechase title with a time of 9:21.03, as teammate Ben Barton was crowned as the decathlon champion after scoring 8,169 points.

ISU's Mercyline Kirwa claimed the program's third overall medal in the women’s 10,000 meters, clocking a time of 31:54.88.

K-State’s Tafadwa Chikomba was the first Conference athlete to claim a title with a leap of 8.37 meters in the men’s long jump, before Selva Prabhu claimed his crown in the men’s triple jump with a mark of 16.92 meters. The pair became the second Wildcats to earn their respective titles in school history.

Texas Tech's Temitope Adeshina claimed her first outdoor NCAA high jump title, with a mark of 1.96 meters, after going undefeated in the event all season.
