IRVING, Texas – Behind notable performances in marquee games, the Conference announced its Monster Energy Big 12 Players of the Week. Arizona State and West Virginia received multiple honors alongside Arizona, BYU, UCF, K-State and Texas Tech who earned accolades.
Fifita made history in Arizona’s 42-17 win over Northern Illinois, setting career and single-game program records. The Southern California native passed Nick Foles to become Arizona’s all-time passing leader and set the school record for completion percentage in a 31-of-34 (.912) performance. Fifita threw for 325 yards and four touchdowns and rushed for a fifth score.
Guiding the WVU offense in its 38-27 win over then-No. 25 Virginia,
Hawkins Jr. threw for 190 yards and two scores. The quarterback also set career highs in rushing with 123 yards and three touchdowns. He became the first Big 12 quarterback to score five touchdowns against a ranked opponent since 2019 and the first FBS signal caller to achieve the feat this season.
Henderson snagged a pair of interceptions in UCF’s 44-30 win over Georgia State alongside seven tackles and a pass breakup. Both of his interceptions came at critical moments in the second half of the game. Henderson is the fourth Knight in program history with multiple interceptions in a game.
Amassing 12 total tackles, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and an interception,
Long played a key role in the Sun Devils’ 24-17 win over Kansas in the Union Jack Classic at Wembley Stadium in London. Both his forced fumble and interception came in the fourth quarter of the game. Long helped his defense pace the Sun Devils, winning their first game with fewer than 250 yards of offense since 2019.
Hamilton returned the opening kickoff of the second half in London for 100 yards to the end zone to capitalize on momentum after ASU went into the half with a 10-7 lead. It is the first kick return for a touchdown by a Sun Devil since D.J. Taylor took the opening kickoff to the house in Arizona State’s Territorial Cup win over Arizona in 2020.
Repeating as a special teams weekly winner,
Karoll helped Texas Tech control field position in its win over then-No. 22 Houston on Friday. He launched punts of 60, 61 and 55 yards to average 58.7 per punt, which included a final kick being downed at the Houston 12-yard line with only 2:44 remaining. It marked the highest punting average in the FBS this season among punters with at least three punts and the highest in a Big 12 contest since 2022.
Glasker earned his second freshman award of the season by catching five passes for 131 yards, while rushing three times for 21 yards and a touchdown. His 26.2 yards per catch in BYU’s 41-23 win at Colorado State are the fourth most by a freshman in school history.
West Virginia’s dominant performance at the line of scrimmage in its win over nationally-ranked Virginia opened lanes for a pair of 100-yard rushers. The Mountaineers rushed for 247 yards over 51 carries (4.8 yards per carry) and three touchdowns. The line also protected Michael Hawkins Jr., who threw for 190 yards and two touchdowns while only being sacked once.
Impacting a 31-20 win over Tulane to the tune of six sacks, six other tackles for a loss, and allowing just 165 yards passing,
K-State received defensive line honors. The Wildcats’ defensive front has only allowed two passing touchdowns in three games and ranks first in the Big 12 and fifth nationally this season, with just three passing plays of 20 or more yards allowed.
