Derek Koetter

Title: Coordinator - Creative Services

Derek Koetter was named Creative Services Coordinator in August 2019. In this position, he is responsible for designing and producing creative collateral that supports Big 12 member institutions and builds the Big 12 brand.
 
Prior to joining the Big 12 staff, Koetter served 2.5 years as the Assistant Athletic Communications Director at the University of Tampa, where he also earned his Master’s degree in Business, with an emphasis in Entrepreneurship. Koetter’s primary responsibilities included covering both indoor and beach women’s volleyball, men’s and women’s lacrosse, and being a secondary contact for men’s and women’s basketball. Additionally, he was the athletic department's primary graphic designer. 

 
Born in Columbia, Missouri, Koetter returned to “COMO” for undergrad, graduating from the University of Missouri in 2012 with a B.S. in Parks, Recreation, and Tourism, with an emphasis in Sport Management. He worked for the varsity volleyball program all four years and was part of the university’s first-ever SEC Championship team.
