Gabby Whitton

Title: Associate Director – Compliance & Governance

Gabby Whitton joined the Big 12 in 2024 as Assistant Director – Compliance & Governance and was elevated to Associate Director – Compliance & Governance in 2024. Whitton is responsible for assisting with all aspects of the Conference’s compliance and governance programs and services.

Whitton joined the league after working at the University of Notre Dame as an Associate Director of Compliance where she oversaw and led all efforts related to eligibility. While in South Bend, she created, implemented and monitored an initial eligibility tracking process for all incoming student-athletes. In addition, Whitton also oversaw the certification process at Notre Dame for all student-athletes, while also serving as the point of contact for all transfer and transfer portal inquiries.

Before her stop at Notre Dame, Whitton spent time at Texas Tech as an Athletic Compliance Graduate Assistant where she created educational materials that adhered to Big 12 and NCAA rules, as well as assisted with recruiting.

Whitton is a two-time graduate of Texas Tech University, receiving her Bachelors of Arts and Sciences with a major in Sport Management and a minor in General Business before collecting her Masters of Arts and Sciences in Sport Management.
