In his current position, Ensor manages the day-to-day strategic communications of Big 12 Football, advances the conference’s football narratives and storytelling and serves as media relations director for the Big 12 Football Championship game among other key duties.
Ensor spent nine years at the University of Arizona, which began as the Associate Director of Communication Services and primary Men’s Basketball contact for three seasons. He was named head of the communications office in 2018 and was promoted several times through the years, reaching Associate A.D. for Communications in 2023. During his time leading communications on behalf of the athletic department, he oversaw five full-time communications staffers, two full-time sports photographers and 10 undergraduate student interns. Ensor’s other duties included serving as the crisis communication lead with campus partners.
During his first three seasons in Tucson, the Wildcats won back-to-back regular season and Pac-12 tournament championships while producing a pair of consensus All-Americans and top-10 NBA Draft picks in Deandre Ayton and Lauri Markkanen.
Ensor spent three years at the University of New Mexico Athletics Department prior to arriving in Tucson. His entrance into the athletic communications field was as a graduate assistant at Virginia Commonwealth University during the 2010-11 academic year. His time in Richmond was highlighted by his involvement with Coach Shaka Smart and the VCU Rams' magical run to the Final Four of the 2011 NCAA Tournament as the secondary media contact for the team.
Ensor grew up in Eugene, Oregon and graduated from the School of Journalism and Communication at the University of Oregon in 2009.
