Chelsey Antony joined the Big 12 Conference as Assistant Vice President - Legal & Business Affairs in July 2026. Antony advises the Conference on legal, business and strategic matters, as well as emerging issues impacting intercollegiate athletics. With a unique background as both an attorney and business partner, she combines legal counsel with commercial strategy and extensive experience in the professional sports landscape.
Prior to joining the Big 12, Antony served as Senior Business Counsel, Commercial Strategy & Legal at NFL Players Inc., the for-profit licensing and marketing arm of the NFL Players Association. In that role, she led commercial strategy initiatives for more than 2,000 NFL players, negotiating partnerships, structuring equity investments, closing licensing agreements and protecting NFLPA and player brands across the globe. She also developed expertise in name, image and likeness (NIL), international sports law and cross-border business strategy while working on emerging issues involving artificial intelligence, NFTs and global intellectual property enforcement.
Before her time with the NFLPA, Antony worked with the Philadelphia 76ers and Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment, supporting legal and business operations across NBA, NHL and esports properties. She has also served as a visiting professor at law schools around the country and is recognized as a leading voice in the evolving sports law landscape.
Originally from Dallas, Texas, Antony is a first-generation American who is passionate about sports as a global, social and political connector. She earned her Juris Doctor from Tulane University Law School, where she received a Certificate in Sports Law, and attended The University of Texas at Austin, studying international sports law and political science. She also holds an IBM Certificate in A.I. Fundamentals and is licensed to practice law in New York and New Jersey, as well as for in-house companies across the United States.
Antony serves on the boards of GENYOUth and the Tulane Sports Law Alumni Board and co-founded the Women in Sports Law Symposium. A Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree, she enjoys traveling, hiking, fitness and exploring food and culture around the world.
