Nicolas Romero

Title: Assistant Director - Creative Video & Social Content

Nicolas Romero joined the Big 12 as Assistant Director - Creative Video & Social Content in November 2025. He is responsible for creating photo and video content that enhances the Conference's storytelling initiatives across its championship events, student-athletes and member institutions.

Prior to joining the Big 12, Romero served as Creative Video Producer for Rice University Athletics, producing content for all Owls athletic programs. His responsibilities included game coverage, media day production, athlete interviews, social media content creation and collaborating with a team of interns to execute comprehensive coverage of athletic events. 

Before his time at Rice, Romero was the Director of Creative Media for the Houston SaberCats Rugby organization from 2021-24. In that role, he oversaw all photography and videography efforts, including game-day coverage, content strategy, videoboard content, media day planning and digital campaigns across the organizations platforms. 

A Houston native, Romero earned a bachelor's degree in Creative Media Industries from Texas Tech University in 2021.
