Michelle Junod Named Cyclone Softball Assistant Coach

AMES, Iowa - Former Cyclone softball standout Michelle Junod has been named an assistant softball coach, ISU head coach Ruth Crowe announced today. Junod comes to Iowa State after spending a year as an assistant coach at the University of Massachusetts. While at UMass Junod assisted with on-field practice and games, team travel arrangements, student-athlete academics, on and off campus recruiting and the organization of a summer sport camp. During the 2000-01 season UMass won the regular-season Atlantic 10 championship, the Atlantic 10 Tournament and advanced to NCAA Regional tournament action.

Junod, an Ankeny, Iowa, native, ended her Iowa State career with a .282 batting average, including 113 hits, 41 runs, one home run and 29 RBI. Junod earned at-large second-team all-Big 12 honors as a sophomore.
