Austin, Texas - Oklahoma State captured its fifth Big 12 women's golf championship with a final score of 900 at the University of Texas Golf Club. Senior Annie Thurman-Young (Oklahoma State) won individual medal honors for the second consecutive season with a record-score of 212.

The Cowgirls shot a 298 on the final day at the UT Golf Club, edging runner-up Texas by one stroke. The 900 score marked the lowest for a winning team in conference history, topping the previous record by six strokes (Oklahoma State - 906, 1999). The Longhorns also ended the final round with a 298 for a total of 901. Baylor finished third at 914, tying its highest finish (2001) in Big 12 history. The Bears also matched the conference record (OSU, 2001) for lowest third-round score, posting a 295 in the final round.

Thurman-Young captured the individual title for the second straight season, the first player in Big 12 history to accomplish the feat in back-to-back years. She is only the second athlete since the conference was formed in 1996-97 to win more than one women's golf crown (Maria Boden, OSU, 1999 & 2001). Thurman-Young tied the championship record (Heather Bowie, UT, 1997) with a score of 212, finishing four under par. The senior posted a par on the final hole to give Oklahoma State the team victory.
