The Phillips 66 Big 12 Women's Basketball Championship returns to Dallas
for the third time in four years (2003-04, 06) on March 7-9 and 11 at
Reunion Arena.
Reunion Arena is the current home of the major indoor soccer league
Dallas Sidekicks and former site of home games for the Dallas Mavericks
professional basketball team and Dallas Stars professional hockey team.
The 19,000-seat venue is considered one of the most versatile indoor
sports and entertainment facilities in the nation with its numerous
amenities. The arena has 6,877 lower level seats and 8,643 in the upper
level with additional floor seating available.
Six different teams have won the nine Phillips 66 Big 12 Tournament
championships. Iowa State, Oklahoma and Texas Tech have two titles each
while Baylor, Colorado and Texas have one. Defending national champion
Baylor claimed its first conference tournament championship at the '05
event at Kansas City's Municipal Auditorium.
The nine championships have drawn a cumulative attendance of 260,586.
