OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Oklahoma Sooners run ruled the Oklahoma State Cowboys, 21-6, in seven innings at the 2006 Big 12 Championship at the AT&T Bricktown Ballpark in Oklahoma City on Saturday.
The Sooners (40-19) finish pool play 1-2 while the Cowboys' final record stands at 0-3.
Daniel McCutchen picked up the win for the Sooners after striking out six Cowboy batters in five innings of work. Brae Wright gets credited for the loss after giving up 11 runs in just three innings. Only two of the runs were earned.
The Sooners used 18 hits and two errors to outscore the Pokes by 15 runs in both teams Big 12 Championship finale.
The key inning for the Sooners was the third were OU used six hits to score eight runs.
Ryan Rohlinger had a big day for the Sooners as he fell a double short of hitting for the cycle. Kevin Smith also contributed a home run for the Sooners. It was Smith's seventh this season.
