Advocare V100 Independence Bowl
Dec. 28 / 4 PM CT / Shreveport, LA / ESPN

This is one of three bowl games matching the Big 12 and the Southeastern Conference. Texas A&M (6-6) has one of the nation's most potent offenses and will face a Georgia defense that gave up more than 34 points in four games. Aggies junior quarterback Jerrod Johnson (3,217 passing yards, 28 touchdowns, six interceptions) could help his 2010 Heisman Trophy chances with a big game against the Bulldogs.

Pacific Life Holiday Bowl
Dec. 30 / 7 PM CT / San Diego, CA / ESPN

After their last-second loss to Texas in the Dr Pepper Big 12 Championship, the Cornhuskers will be fired up to end the season with their 10th victory. Defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh gets the chance to prove wrong any Heisman Trophy voters that didn't have him on their ballots. Nebraska's offense has stagnated and will need improvement to beat an Arizona team that has had a solid season that ended with a victory at USC.

Brut Sun Bowl
Dec. 31 / 1 PM CT / El Paso, TX / CBS

The Sooners will try to end a season of terrible luck and disappointment with a victory. Redshirt quarterback Landry Jones, who'll be the starter next season, can prepare for a successful 2010 with a good performance. Oklahoma's defense is seventh nationally against the run and will try to stop the Cardinal's Toby Gerhart, whose 1,736 yards were the most in Division I-A. Stanford is expected to be without starting quarterback Andrew Luck (broken finger).

Texas Bowl
Dec. 31 / 2:30 PM CT / Houston, TX / ESPN

The Tigers won four of their last five games, overcoming an 0-3 start in Big 12 play. Sophomore quarterback Blaine Gabbert and senior wide receiver Danario Alexander form one of the nation's top deep pass combos. Alexander had over 200 yards receiving in three of Missouri's last four games. The Tigers struggled with pass defense but against to stop the Midshipmen, Missouri's run defense will be tested. Navy averages 272 yards rushing per game.

Insight Bowl
Dec. 31 / 5 PM CT / Tempe, AZ / NFL

The Cyclones are bowling for the first time since 2005 and will try to cap a storybook first-year season for coach Paul Rhoads. The Gophers are in the Insight Bowl for the third time in the last four seasons. Minnesota lost to Texas Tech in 2006 and to Kansas last season. Both teams are averaging 21 points per game and have passing attacks ranked near the bottom of Division I-A statistics.

AT&T Cotton Bowl
Jan. 2 / 1 PM CT / Arlington, TX / FOX

The Cowboys are coming off a 27-0 to Bedlam rival Oklahoma that probably cost Oklahoma State a BCS at-large invitation. Quarterback Zac Robinson was limited by injuries in that game and his return to health is crucial for the Cowboys to beat the Rebels. OSU's defense will need to limit Ole Miss running back Dexter McCluster, a threat as a runner and as a receiver. QB Jevan Snead started his career at Texas.

Valero Alamo Bowl
Jan. 2 / 8 PM CT / San Antonio, TX / ESPN

The Red Raiders will play in their 10th consecutive bowl game. In six of their last seven bowls, they've scored at least 31 points. Junior quarterback Taylor Potts, who played well at the end of the season after losing the job at mid-season, has been named the starter for the Alamo Bowl. The Spartans haven't had much success stopping opponents' pass attacks; Michigan State allows 251 yards passing per game and 29 touchdown passes.

Citi BCS National Championship
Jan. 7 / 7:30 PM CT / Pasadena, CA / ABC

The last time the Longhorns played in Pasadena (2006 Rose Bowl) they were an underdog but they beat USC to win the 2005 BCS national title. Texas and Alabama match 13-0 records but the Crimson Tide is favored. Quarterback Colt McCoy and the UT offense hope to bounce back from a shaky performance in the Dr Pepper Big 12 Championship game. Alabama and running back Mark Ingram hope to avoid the Heisman Trophy jinx.
