Your Humble Correspondent is tasked with keeping up with Twitter (http://twitter.com/Big12Conference). The regular viewing of the social networking site has kept YHC up to date on a variety of topics and other Twitterers who the Big 12 is following.

Several basketball coaches exist in the Twitter Universe - Baylor women's coach Kim Mulkey, Texas A&M coach Mark Turgeon, Kansas coach Bill Self to name a few.

This is an unofficial opinion and a fictional award but Twitter Coach Of The Year is Iowa State's Bill Fennelly. YHC says that because of the quality and quantity of Fennelly's Tweets. By following Fennelly, you learn that he is a huge St. Louis Cardinals fan and an enthusiastic supporter of all things Cyclone. He drinks diet Mountain Dew by the gallons (perhaps that's what fuels his Tweeting). He likes exclamation points. He is an astute observer of the world.

To back up this claim, YHC has compiled some of Fennelly's top Tweets from last the last six weeks (!!!! - exclamation points in his honor). These Tweets are in reverse chronological order. (After Thursday night's win at Kansas) Just landed in Ames NOW THAT is how to travel! 40 minutes Kids can get a good night's sleep-and time to get some work done tonite.

May not need a plane to fly home after that win! Cyclones battle back to defeat a good Kansas team at Phog Allen. So proud of our fight!!

Killing afternoon watching TV- curling and summit on health care-after 30 minutes of each still have no idea what I watched and heard.

(Reacting to Iowa State's men's team defeating Nebraska) Got to feel GREAT for Coach Mac and the Cyclones!! Good win tonight--hopefully the start of a nice run!!

Alison Lacey named one of the 8 finalists for the Nancy Lieberman Award for best point guard in the nation. Great honor-well deserved.

(After a recruiting trip) Home Sweet Home-750 miles/12 hours of driving-sleep quick then back at it-have to get ready for trip to Missouri. IT IS FEBRUARY!GO CYCLONES!

(During the recruiting trip) Wonder what the record is for ounces of diet mountain dew consumed in one day would be??

Got to love small town Iowa)-LONG line at Casey's for lunch)) one worker not in any hurry--sometimes I envy that "deliberate" pace of life))

Congrats to Iowa Native Kurt Warner on a career- retirement done w/ class and dignity--example that you can be good and off the field/court!

Some travel adjustments--have to bus to Des Moines before taking the charter to Austin--seems like every time we go there something odd happens.
