Tolbert, Hahn & Bell Earn Volleyball Weekly Awards

Briana Tolbert (Baylor), Kristen Hahn (Iowa State) and Khat Bell (Texas) have claimed Big 12 Volleyball Player of the Week honors for matches of Oct. 3-9. Tolbert was tabbed the Offensive Player of the Week, while Hahn earned the Defensive Player of the Week and Bell picked up the Rookie of the Week. This is the first career honor for Tolbert and second for Hahn and Bell, who both earned similar distinctions earlier this season.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Briana Tolbert, Baylor, MB, Sr., Houston, Texas
Tolbert led Baylor to consecutive Big 12 wins over Texas Tech and Missouri last week. The senior averaged 4.12 kills per set, while racking up 33 kills and just four errors in 58 attempts to hit .500 for the week. Against Texas Tech, Tolbert notched 15 kills in just three sets with only one error to hit .583. Three days later, she tallied a career-high 18 kills in a five-set come-from-behind win over Missouri. In the match, Baylor was down 2-0, but battled back for a 3-2 win led by Tolbert's team-high in kills and .441 hitting percentage. She also averaged 1.12 blocks per set with five against TTU and four against MU. The Houston, Texas-native ranks fourth in the Big 12 with a .354 hitting percentage.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Kristen Hahn, Iowa State, L, So., Cedar Rapids, Iowa
Hahn recorded 6.86 digs per set last week as the No. 16 Cyclones downed Kansas State on the road, 3-0, and defeated No. 22 Oklahoma, 3-1. The sophomore is ranked first in digs per set against league opponents, averaging 5.64 digs after last week's play. The Cyclones also reclaimed the top spot in the Big 12, improving to 5-1 in conference action. Hahn recorded two aces, both against the Sooners.  Still the only player in the conference with 35 digs in a match this season, Hahn has collected more than 20 digs in the Cyclones' last three matches (23 at Kansas State and 25 against Oklahoma) to total nine matches of 20 or more digs this season.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Khat Bell, Texas, OH, Fr., Mesquite, Texas
Bell shined for No. 10 Texas in its sweep victory against Texas A&M last week, playing her first collegiate match at middle blocker. The Mesquite, Texas-native headlined the Horns' attack with a team-best .611 hitting percentage, a team-high 4.00 kills and 5.00 points per-set. She added a team-best two service aces in the win and chipped in four digs and a pair of blocks.
