Hurts Named Finalist for Unitas Golden Arm Award

After nine weeks of play, the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award® presented by A. O. Smith has narrowed its season watch list to 10 of the country’s top college quarterbacks which includes Oklahoma's Jalen Hurts. These quarterbacks have been selected based on player performance on-and-off the field.

Hurts has made an immediate impact in his first season in Norman, leading the nation in five different categories, including passing efficiency (224.3), passing yards per completion (18.6), points responsible for (206), points responsible for per game (25.8) and passing yards per attempt (13.7). The quarterback has led the Sooners to a 7-1 overall record and a No. 10 ranking in the AP Poll.
 
The 2019 Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award® presented by A. O. Smith will be presented on Wednesday, December 11, in Baltimore, Maryland at the Four Seasons Hotel Baltimore located in the heart of Harbor East, one of the city’s newest neighborhoods.

Proceeds donated to the Golden Arm Award help support the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Educational Foundation, which provides assistance to underprivileged and deserving student-athletes throughout Maryland and Kentucky.
