Baylor Plays Notre Dame in Sunday's Title Game

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) -  Baylor (36-1) will seek its third national title on Sunday, facing defending champion Notre Dame (35-3) in the first NCAA Championship final featuring a pair of female head coaches since Mulkey and the Fighting Irish's Muffet McGraw also met in 2012.

Baylor advanced after a 72-67 win over first-time Final Four participant Oregon in Friday's first semifinal.

"The feeling is unreal," Baylor center Kalani Brown said. "I'm still in shock. I'm overwhelmed. I'm just happy to be a part of this team right now."

Brown scored a game-high 22 points Friday night. Forward Lauren Cox added 21.

"We've played in big games," Cox said. "Obviously we haven't been to a Final Four in a while, but we're used to the pressure, used to that big-game moment."

Baylor and Notre Dame will both be looking for a third national championship in a rematch of the 2012 title game won by the Lady Bears 80-61.

For the first time in NCAA Championship history, two conferences (ACC and Big 12) will have teams pitted against each other in the men's and women's title games. In addition to the Baylor-Notre Dame matchup, Texas Tech faces Virginia in the men's championship final on Monday in Minneapolis.

The game is set for a 6 p.m. ET/5 p.m. CT tip on ESPN or the WatchESPN App.
