Texas Captures Big 12 Volleyball Championship

Texas has wrapped up the 2020 Big 12 volleyball championship after improving its record to 14-0. The title is the fourth-consecutive and 13th overall for UT, who has won or shared nine of the last 10 league championships and 12 of the previous 14.

The Longhorns hold a three-match lead in the Conference standings with just two matches left to play. Texas has been the nation’s top-ranked team each week of the season in the AVCA Fall Top 15. The squad has lost just eight sets and has won over half of its matches in straight sets. UT is in the top five nationally in hitting percentage, kills per set and assists per set.

Teams played a revised schedule this fall consisting of a double round-robin format of 16 league matches played in eight double headers. Matches that were unable to be rescheduled this fall will be moved to the spring. Additionally, the All-Big 12 Volleyball awards will be moved to the spring after all conference matches are completed.
