Texas Tech Athlete of the Year Nominees

2019-20 Big 12 Athlete of the Year candidates will be highlighted each weekday through May 22.

Fans will be able to vote for their male and female choices from May 22 until May 26 on Big12Sports.com. Fan voting will be considered in the final tally for selecting this prestigious award.

Today’s featured candidates are Texas Tech’s Brittany Brewer and Sandy Scott.

Brittany Brewer, Basketball

Accomplishments
^ 2020 All-America Honorable Mention by the Associated Press, USBWA and WBCA.  
^ 2020 CoSIDA Women’s Basketball Academic All-American of the Year.    
^ All-Big 12 First Team and Big 12 All-Defensive Team performer.   
^ Top-five finalist for the Lisa Leslie Award, given to the nation’s top center.
^ Last season, she was the only player in the country to average 15+ points, 10+ rebounds and 4+ blocks.

TTU Male Athlete of the Year Candidate
Sandy Scott; Golf
Sr.; Nairn, Scottland

Accomplishments
^ Tabbed to the PING All-America Second Team.
^ Recognized as a Golfweek All-America Second Team honoree.
^ Picked up All-District recognition from PING.
^ Named the Big 12 Golfer of the Month in November after helping the Red Raiders to the Big 12 Match Play Tournament title.
^ Participated in the 2019 Walker Cup, registering as the highest point scorer for Great Britain & Ireland.
