TCU’s Lauren Heard was honored as Big 12 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, while Iowa State’s Kylie Feuerbach earned Freshman of the Week in the final awards of the 2020-21 season.
Heard scored under 100 points in three games, averaging 31.3 points per game on the week. She totaled two 30-point games and was just two points shy of a third, scoring 28 points against Texas. The senior posted back-to-back double-doubles against OU (31 points, 11 steals) and Texas (28 points, 10 rebounds) and was a rebound shy of a triple double at OU.
Feuerbach tallied 11 points, 7 rebounds, three steals, two assists and a block against Kansas, as she helped ISU to its 12th win in league play which tied for the third-most Big 12 wins in school history. The freshman starter also went 2-of-2 from the charity stripe in ISU’s fourth series sweep of the season.
This is the first award for Heard this season and the third in her career, while the freshman honor is the second for Feuerbach.
