Three Big 12 Programs Earn National Seeds for NCAA Soccer Championship

Three Big 12 squads earned national seeds in the 48-team field of the 2020 NCAA Women’s Soccer Championship, which will be held in Cary, North Carolina, and surrounding areas. . (The Championship is normally conducted in the Fall, but was delayed until the Spring.)

Big 12 regular-season champion TCU (11-1-1, 8-0-1 Big 12) earned the No. 4 seed, as the Horned Frogs make their fifth-consecutive appearance in the tournament. TCU will face the winner of the New Mexico/Navy match at 5 p.m. CT on Friday, April 30, in Wilson.

West Virginia (10-2-1, 7-2 Big 12) punched its 21st ticket to the NCAA Championship and will be the No. 5 seed. The Mountaineers will play either Rice or Furman at 2 p.m. CT on Saturday, May 1, in Cary.

Oklahoma State (12-3-1, 6-2-1 Big 12) also earned an at-large selection and the No. 10-seed. The Cowgirls make their second-straight appearance and 13th overall. OSU will take on the winner of the Colorado/South Alabama contest at 6 p.m. CT on Friday, April 30, in Greensboro.  

Early round matches will be played on campuses at Campbell, East Carolina and the University of North Carolina Wilmington, in addition to Bryan Park (Greensboro), J. Burt Gillette Athletic Complex (Wilson), Sportsplex (Mathews) and WakeMed Soccer Park (Cary).

The Women’s College Cup semifinals will be held on Thursday, May 13. The championship match will be played on Monday, May 17 at Sahlen’s Stadium at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary.

Each of the first four rounds will be available on NCAA.com, while the women’s national semifinals will be broadcast live on ESPN2 with the final carried on ESPNU.
