Texas was ranked No. 1 and Baylor No. 10 in the 2021 preseason AVCA Top 25 poll released on Monday. Additionally, Kansas and K-State collected votes.
 
The Longhorns were named the No. 1 team in the country, as they aim for another return trip to the National Championship match after last year’s runner-up campaign. Texas returns five players who were All-Americans last season, including Big 12 Preseason Player of the Year Logan Eggleston.
 
Baylor secured the No. 10 spot in the poll after reaching the regional semifinals last year for the first time in back-to-back seasons. The Bears feature two Preseason All-Big 12 Team selections in Yossiana Pressley and Avery Skinner.
 
The 2021 regular season opens August 27, with conference play starting on September 24.
