Oklahoma State’s Roc Riggio (player), Nolan Schubart (newcomer) and Texas’ Lebarron Johnson Jr. (pitcher) won Big 12 Baseball weekly honors for games ending May 7.
 
Riggio went 8-for-15 (.533), smashing four home runs while driving in 10 runs. The second baseman from Simi Valley, California reached base, scored a run and drove in a run in all four games last week, including a weekend sweep of East Tennessee State. He went 4-for-5 with a pair of home runs and five RBIs at Oral Roberts in the midweek game. The sophomore finished the week with 10 runs scored, a .650 on-base percentage and a 1.333 slugging percentage, capturing his second weekly award of the season.
 
Johnson struck out a career-high 12 Kansas hitters over 7.0 innings, holding the Jayhawks to a single run in his start Saturday. The redshirt sophomore scattered four hits and did not allow an opposing hitter to reach via hit or walk over his last three innings of work. The Jacksonville, Florida native held opponents to a .154 batting average as he ran his record to 5-2 on the year and collected his first weekly award.
 
Schubart’s week was paced by a career game on Sunday, as he tied a Big 12 record with two grand slams in a single game. In the win against ETSU, the left fielder was 3-for-3 with a perfect 5.000 OPS and tied Cowboy program records with three home runs and 10 RBIs. For the week, the freshman from Durand, Michigan hit .400 with a .500 on-base percentage and 1.000 slugging percentage. It is Schubart’s second newcomer honor of the season.
