BYU’s Clinger and Utah’s Vringer Repeat as Big 12 Runners of the Week

BYU’s Casey Clinger (men’s) and Utah’s Erin Vringer (women’s) each collected their second Conference accolade in three weeks for the seventh week of the season.

Clinger claimed the top finish at the 2024 Bill Dellinger Invitational with a time of 22:54.8. The win extends the senior’s streak of top-four finishes as he has yet to finish outside of the top four this season. The co-captain led a pack of Cougars that swept the top five finishes of the men’s 8k race. Clinger is the first runner in program history to win multiple Conference weekly awards in the same season.

Vringer finished runner-up in the women’s 6k to lead the Utes to their second-ever team title at the Bill Dellinger Invitational. The redshirt sophomore from New Brunswick, Canada recorded a personal-best time of 19:49.8, nearly 25 seconds faster than her previous career best that she set earlier this season at the Nuttycombe Invitational. It is the first time in program history that a Ute has been the recipient of a Conference award in back-to-back meets.
