Texas Collects 2024 Big 12 Men’s Tennis Championship Title

STILLWATER, Okla. – Top-seeded Texas defeated No. 3-seeded TCU 4-0 to win the 2024 Big 12 Men’s Tennis Championship at the Greenwood Tennis Center. It is the sixth Big 12 Championship title in program history and the first since 2018 for the Longhorns.

Pierre-Yves Bailly was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Championship after finishing 2-0 in singles and 2-0 in doubles for the week. Bailly clinched the win for Texas against Oklahoma State with a 7-6 (7-4), 6-1 showing on the fourth court before contributing two points in the win over the Horned Frogs.

TCU landed the first strike as Jake Fearnley and Pedro Vives gave the advantage to the Horned Frogs on the top doubles court (6-3). Pierre-Yves Bailly and Eshan Talluri responded for Texas with a 6-2 performance on the No. 2 court to shift the focus to court three. Micah Braswell and Cleeve Harper secured the doubles point for the Longhorns with a 6-2 victory.

Siem Woldeab was the first off the courts in singles play as he won in straight sets (6-2, 6-2) to give UT a 2-0 advantage. Pierre-Yves Bailly tagged the next point on the fourth court (6-3, 6-4) before Gilles-Arnaud Bailly clinched the title for Texas.
