Big 12 Represented By 13 WNBA Players

A total of 13 Big 12 players are listed on opening day rosters for the 2024 WNBA season, representing five Conference schools. It is the fourth consecutive WNBA season where at least 12 Big 12 players have been rostered to start the year.
 
Baylor leads the way with seven former players on rosters, led by nine-time All-Star Brittney Griner, who returns to the Phoenix Mercury. Kalani Brown (Dallas), DiJonai Carrington (Connecticut), Queen Egbo (Connecticut), DiDi Richards (Washington), NaLyssa Smith (Indiana) and Kristy Wallace (Indiana) complete the Baylor contingent in the league.
 
Iowa State and Texas each have a pair of players in the W. Bridget Carleton (Minnesota) and Stephanie Soares (Dallas) make up the Cyclone contingent while Ariel Atkins (Washington) and Sug Sutton (Phoenix) represent the Longhorns.
 
Oklahoma State’s Natasha Mack (Phoenix) and West Virginia’s Kysre Gondrezick (Chicago) complete the list of Big 12 players in the WNBA.
 
The 2024 WNBA season begins Tuesday, May 14 with three games.
