Kansas State’s Shaylee Myers (offensive), UCF’s Alexa Haley (defensive) and Baylor’s Ksenia Rakhmanchik (rookie) were named the Big 12 Volleyball Players of the Week for matches ending Nov. 9.
Myers led Kansas State to an undefeated week, highlighted by a top-20 sweep over then-No. 20 Colorado. The senior outside hitter became the 28th player in program history and the 14th in the rally-scoring era to eclipse 1,000 career points. Against Cincinnati, she led the Wildcats in scoring for the 15th time in 20 matches this season, closing out the match with 23.5 points. Myers notched her fourth double-double of the year with 21 kills and 10 digs. For the week, she racked up 32 kills, 16 digs, three blocks, and an ace for 35.0 total points. It is her third Conference award this season and the fourth of her career.
Haley anchored UCF’s defense in back-to-back sweeps over Houston and then-No. 24 Iowa State. The freshman libero tallied 32 digs through the two matches, averaging 5.33 digs per set, and led a back row that held both opponents to sub-.200 hitting percentages and just 10.8 kills per set. Against Iowa State, which entered the match third in the Conference in hitting percentage and first in kills per set, Haley and the UCF defense limited the Cyclones to just .174 hitting and 13 kills per set. The win over Iowa State marked the second-ever ranked sweep in program history for UCF. Haley becomes the second Knight in program history to be named Big 12 Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week, joining Reaghan Thompson, who received the honor earlier this season (Sept. 23).
Rakhmanchik helped No. 23 Baylor to two sweeps, by totaling 33 kills (5.50 per set) while hitting .296 and adding nine service aces and 46.5 points against West Virginia and Utah. The freshman outside hitter delivered 18 kills and seven aces against the Utes, the most aces by a Baylor freshman in a three-set match in program history. She is now sixth in the Big 12 with .37 aces per set in league play, while her 18 kills were also the most by any Bear in a three-set contest this season and the most by a Baylor freshman since 2023. Rakhmanchik also led all players in the Bears’ match against West Virginia with 15 kills. It is the second Conference weekly award of the season for Rakhmanchik.
