IRVING, Texas – Six Big 12 teams were named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association’s (AVCA)/TARAFLEX Preseason Division I Women’s Volleyball Poll, tying the Conference record that was set in 2025. The six selections are the second-most among all Conferences.
 
After winning the Conference title for the second consecutive season, Arizona State opens the year at No. 12. The Sun Devils recorded the third-most wins in team history (28), after advancing to the regional semifinals and finishing undefeated at home (16-0) for the first time in the NCAA era.
 
Kansas came in at No. 15, after advancing to the Sweet 16 for the first time since 2021 last season. It is the fourth time in the last five years that the Jayhawks have been listed in the preseason poll.
 
TCU earned its highest ranking in the poll in program history, coming in at No. 18. The Horned Frogs became one of 15 programs nationally to advance to at least the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament in each of the last four seasons.
 
Baylor begins the season at No. 21 after appearing in its 10^th straight NCAA Tournament last year. The ranking extends the Bears’ streak to 122 consecutive rankings, the fifth-longest active streak in Division I.
 
Colorado slots in at No. 23 for its 12^th all-time appearance in the preseason poll. It is the first time since 2018 that the Buffaloes will start the year ranked after making their 22^nd tournament appearance in 2025.
 
BYU rounds out the Conference’s rankings at No. 24 with its 37^th appearance in the preseason poll. The Cougars have advanced to the NCAA Tournament 14 consecutive seasons.
