Baylor’s Ksenia Rakhmanchik (offensive), UCF’s Reaghan Thompson (defensive), and BYU’s Suli Davis (rookie) were named the Big 12 Volleyball Players of the Week for matches ending Nov. 30.
Rakhmanchik powered then-No. 22 Baylor to a five-set road win at No. 20 TCU, delivering a career-high 28 kills, the most by a Bear this season. The freshman outside hitter hit .433, to lead the Bears to their highest mark (.314) in a five-set match since 2018. Rakhmanchik recorded seven kills in the third set and delivered the match-winner in the fifth set to give Baylor its first road victory against a ranked opponent since 2022. She added three digs, two blocks and one service ace to fill the box score. This is her first Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week and the fourth Conference honor of her freshman season.
Thompson anchored UCF’s defense with 14 blocks across two matches, averaging 1.56 blocks per set. The senior outside hitter posted eight blocks in a five-set win at Kansas State and six more in a four-set match at Kansas, to help UCF record the second-most blocks (42) in the Big 12 for the week. She also contributed 16 kills, three digs and a .297 hitting percentage for the week. It is her second Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week honor and is the first Knight to win multiple weekly awards.
Davis led BYU with double-digit kills in both matches last week, as she registered a Big 12-leading 42 kills. Her 42 kills and 46.5 points were both the seventh-most nationally. The freshman outside hitter posted her team-leading ninth double-double in the Cougars’ 3-1 win at No. 23 Colorado and was a dig shy of another against Utah. Against the Utes, Davis ended the match with 26 kills and nine digs, two kills off her career high. The Euless, Texas native leads all freshmen in both kills and kills per set this season and added totals of 20 digs, three assists, three service aces and two blocks. This marks the sixth time Davis has been named Big 12 Rookie of the Week, tied for the second-most selections in Conference history.
