UCF’s Yassine Dlimi (men’s) and Texas Tech’s Yekaterina Dmitrichenko (women’s) were named the Big 12 Men’s and Women’s Tennis Players of the Week for matches ending Feb. 16.
Dlimi led UCF to its highest-ranked win in program history by recording the highest-ranked win of his career against No. 4 Ohio State. The win came in the Knights’ first-ever appearance in the 2025 ITA Men’s Indoor Championship against the reigning indoor national champion Buckeyes. The junior from Casablanca, Morocco took down No. 22 Aidan Kim (Ohio State) 6-3, 6-4 on the top court to give UCF its first point of the match.
Dmitrichenko helped the Lady Raiders to a win over No. 24 UC Santa Barbara with victories in both singles and doubles. The junior helped clinch the doubles point with teammate Hailey Murphy with a 6-4 result on the No. 2 court before tallying a match-tying singles point (6-4, 7-5) at the No. 3 position. To end her weekend, she clinched Texas Tech’s sweep over Arizona with a 6-2, 6-4 win. The Kokshetau, Kazakhstan native didn’t drop a set on the week as she improved her win total on the year to a team-leading six dual singles victories.
