Kansas State’s Maralgoo Chogsomjav (women’s) and TCU’s Pedro Vives (men’s) garnered the Big 12 Men’s and Women’s Tennis Players of the Week for Matches ending Feb. 23.

Chogsomjav finished a combined 3-1 and an unblemished 2-0 in singles play. The sophomore from Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia led the Wildcats to a 4-3 win over Iowa with a win on the No. 3 singles court and her first ranked doubles win of the season on the top court. Chogsomjav teamed up with Charlotte Keitel to take down the 90th-ranked pair in the country 6-1. She added another win against Rice’s Nithesa Selvaraj 7-5, 6-3 to round out her week. The senior didn’t drop a singles match as he finished the event 4-0 with four ranked wins. The wins came against opponents ranked No. 7, 34, 85 and 114, plus he added two doubles wins against San Diego’s top-ranked duo in the country and Baylor’s ninth-ranked pair. After his performance in the tournament, the Palma De Mallorca, Spain was named to the ITA Indoor Tournament Team at the No. 2 position. It is the first Conference weekly award of his career and the first for TCU this season.
