TTU’s Pawlak and UCF’s Lincer Earn Big 12 Weekly Tennis Accolades

UCF’s Olivia Lincer (women’s) and Texas Tech’s Piotr Pawlak (men’s) were named the Big 12 Men’s and Women’s Tennis Players of the Week for matches ending March 9. It is both athletes’ first Conference weekly award.

Lincer helped the Knights to ranked wins over No. 15 Baylor and No. 40 TCU including two convincing 6-1 doubles wins with freshman teammate Hannah Rylatt. The Knights’ duo picked up wins over the No. 15-ranked duo from Baylor (Tiglea/Kostenko) and the No. 23-ranked duo from TCU (Otway/Pascual). She added two singles wins on court two to move to 7-0 in singles this spring.

Pawlak finished the Ed Collins Invitational 3-1 with two doubles-clinching points. The senior from Warsaw, Poland started his week with a comeback singles victory against then-No. 66 Old Dominion (4-6, 6-1, 6-2). He followed that up with back-to-back doubles-clinching points against UC San Diego (6-3) and San Diego State (6-2). Both performances came in team wins as the Red Raiders finished 2-1 at the invitational.
