WACO, Texas – Top-seeded Texas Tech and No. 2 seed UCF advanced to the 2025 Big 12 Women’s Tennis Championship final with semifinal wins Saturday at the Hurd Tennis Center. The Lady Raiders clinched their spot in the Championship first with a 4-2 win over No. 4 seed Baylor, while the Knights edged No. 3 seed Oklahoma State, 4-3, in a back-and-forth battle that came down to the final singles court. The Championship final is slated for Sunday at noon CT and will be streamed on ESPN+.
No. 1 Texas Tech 4, No. 4 Baylor 2
Texas Tech started by claiming the top two doubles courts. Yekaterina Dmitrichenko and Hailey Murphy secured a 6-3 victory on court two, followed by a 6-4 decision from Mariia Hlahola and Avelina Sayfetdinova on court one.
Baylor’s Na Dong (6-1, 6-0) tied things up with a win at court four before Dmitrichenko delivered a 6-4, 6-0 result at No. 2 to briefly regain the lead. Zuzanna Kubacha (6-2, 6-2) brought it back to even at court three for the Bears before TTU’s Sayfetdinova rallied for a 3-6, 6-4, 6-2 win on court one. Jermine Sherif (2-6, 6-2, 6-2) completed the match with another rally on court six to send the Lady Raiders to the Championship final.
No. 2 UCF 4, No. 3 Oklahoma State 3
Oklahoma State’s pair of Anastasiya Komar and Rose Marie Nijkamp took the first doubles point with a 6-3 result to start the match. UCF then took the next two doubles courts as Sophia Biolay and Aya El Aouni earned a 6-3 win at No. 2, while Olivia Bergler and Jade Psonka secured the point with a 6-2 victory on court three.
In singles, Komar (6-2, 6-3) and Nijkamp (6-2, 6-2) earned straight-sets wins to put the Cowgirls on the board. UCF bounced back with victories by Hannah Rylatt (6-2, 6-3) and Biolay (6-2, 6-4) to make it a 3-2 UCF advantage. Gracie Epps forced it to a winner-take-all final point as she prevailed with a 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 performance on court five. Olivia Lincer clinched the match with a 3-6, 6-4, 7-6 (7-3) rally, to win in tiebreaks and set a matchup with No. 1 seed Texas Tech on Sunday.
