UF Wins Inaugural Big 12 Lacrosse Championship

BOULDER, Colo. - Top-seeded Florida won against No. 3 seed Arizona State for first-ever Big 12 Lacrosse Championship final. The Gators won 21-10 to improve to 17-2 on the season.

Clark Hamilton and Gianna Monaco helped lead the Gators to victory with five goals each. Florida also had nine saves in goal to secure the win.

Florida defender Theresa Bragg was named the most outstanding player for the Championship with her ground ball and two caused turnovers in the final.

The Gators also won the Big 12 regular season title, while they sit No. 4 in the national rankings. The NCAA DI women’s lacrosse selection show is set for Sunday, May 4 at 8.pm. CT on ESPNU, with Florida receiving the Big 12’s automatic bid to the field.
