SAN ANTONIO -- Allison Kidd fired a shot into the upper right corner from 12 yards just over a miute into overtime to give No. 2 seed Colorado a 3-2 win over No. 6 seed Texas in semifinal action of the Big 12 Soccer Championship at Blossom Soccer Stadium. The goal was Kidd's third game-winner of the season.
Colorado improves to 12-6-3 and advances to Sunday's final against top seed Texas A&M at 1 p.m. CT. Texas falls to 11-8-1.
CU jumped out to a 2-0 lead on goals from Katie Griffin. She gave the Buffs a 1-0 halftime advantage when she lofted a shot over the goalkeeper unassisted. Griffin added her second goal of the game at the 65:12 mark in the second period when she took a pass from Nikki Keller and put it into the center of the box.
Griffin's two goals give her 12 for the season, bettering her own mark of 10, which was also held by Ashlie Mihalcin. Griffin's 27 career goals and 63 career points are second on the CU all-time list.
Texas cut the lead in half on a Kasey Moore goal that was headed in off a long pass from Amy Burlingham. UT goalkeeper Dianna Pfenninger tied the game up with a kick from behind the center line two minutes before the end of regulation.
