SAN ANTONIO -- Three goals were scored in the last nine minutes of the game in an exciting semifi nal
as top seed Texas A&M held off No. 4 seed Nebraska 4-2 in the Big 12 Soccer Championship at Blossom
Soccer Stadium.
A&M improves its record to 15-3-2 and advances to Sunday's fi nal at 1 p.m. CT against the winner of No. 2
Colorado vs. No. 6 Texas. Nebraska falls to 13-7-1.
The Aggies had a 2-1 lead with just under 10 minutes left when Melissa Garey scored off an Amy Berend
assist. Nebraska then cut the lead back to one at 3-2 as Jessie Bruch defl ected a shot into the lower right
corner with four minutes remaining, scoring her second goal of the game. A little over a minute later Ashlee
Pistorius knocked in her second goal of the contest, chipping a shot over the keeper from 30 yards out, to
conclude the game's scoring at 4-2.
A&M got on the board fi rst when Kat Krambeer slotted a shot past the keeper from six yards out. Pistorius
and Laura Probst were credited with assists.
Nebrasked tied it up right before the half with Bruch's fi rst goal. She headed a shot in off Brittany Timko's
free kick. The assist was Timko's 20th this year - an NU single-season school record.
Pistorius scored the Aggies' second goal 15 minutes into the second half off a rebound inside the six-yard
line. With two goals tonight, Pistorius has a Big 12-leading 18 on the season, two more than teammate
Garey's 16. Pistorius totaled fi ve points to increase her league-leading point total to 47.
