The quarterfinals are set for the Big 12 Tennis Championships at the Plaza Tennis Center as the higher seeds all advanced on the women's side of the bracket. The quarterfinal play will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, with a total of eight men's and women's matches being contested in Kansas City.

In afternoon first-round matches, Oklahoma and Texas Tech moved on. The Sooners came back in singles after losing the doubles point to KU en route to a 4-3 victory. The Jayhawks' win in doubles came on a 9-8 tally at No. 1 after the two squads split the other doubles action. The clinching match came at No. 1 as OU registered a 7-5, 7-6 (3) win. The Red Raiders earned the doubles point in their match and won three of the four singles matchups for a 4-2 tally.

In the first matches of the day, Nebraska and Oklahoma State both advanced with 4-0 victories. In the Huskers' match, NU won the doubles point with victories at No. 1 and No. 2. It followed with wins at No. 1, No. 3 and No. 6 singles to clinch the victory. All three singles matches were straight sets tallies. OSU captured the doubles point with wins at the first two positions. In singles action, Oklahoma State's victories were at the No. 3, No. 4 and No. 6. All three of those matches were also in straight sets.
