Kansas City, Mo. - Despite a nearly five-hour rain delay, the semifinalists are ready to face off at the 2007 Big 12 Tennis Championships at the Plaza Tennis Center. No. 1 seed Baylor, No. 2 Oklahoma State, No. 3 Texas and No. 5 Oklahoma advanced on the men's side, while No. 1 BU, No. 2 UT, No. 3 Texas A&M and No. 5 OSU were winners in the women's bracket. The semifinals will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.

Baylor led the way as three of the top four seed advanced. The Bears notched a 4-0 win by capturing the doubles point and the No. 3, 5 and 6 positions. Texas also posted a 4-0 tally, defeating Texas Tech. It was the 11th shutout by BU this season and the Longhorns' sixth blanking of `07. Oklahoma State made the semifinals for the first time since winning the title in 2003 with a 4-1 upset over CU. Texas A&M will play on Saturday after a 4-0 win over OU.

The Aggies are in the semifinals for the eighth straight year.

Oklahoma State topped Texas A&M, 4-1, in the first men's match of the day. Leading the way was freshman Oleksandr Nedovyesov at No. 1 singles with a 6-1, 6-1 win. He also notched a doubles tally for the Cowboys and now has a combined 10 wins versus Big 12 competition this season. OU and NU had to move inside due to the inclement weather, with the Sooners posting a 4-2 victory. The singles spots were contested first, with Oklahoma winning at No. 2, 3, 4, and 6. Texas closed out men's play by edging Texas Tech, 4-2. The Longhorns clinched the victory by winning at the first four singles positions.
