The Longhorns maintain an 20 stroke lead following the third round of the Big 12 Men’s Golf Championship hosted by Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Okla.
The Longhorns carded a 282 on the second day of competition to lead all teams in the third round of play. Texas Tech finished the day with a team score of 284 to bring their team score to 869 through three rounds. TCU climbed two spots to round out the top three after shooting a seven-over 287 to bring their cumulative team score to 877.
Iowa state fell to fourth place after shooting 17-over for the round to bring the team score for the Cyclones to 880. Oklahoma State checked in at sixth place with a combined team score of 886 while Baylor remained in seventh with a team score of 895. Kansas and Kansas State round out the leaderboard with scores of 897 and 913 respectively.
There was quite a bit of movement in individual play as Texas’ Scottie Scheffler claimed the No. 1 spot with a round score of 68 to bring his total to 207 in the Championship. Fellow Longhorn Gavin Hall sits in second with a combined 210. Texas’ Doug Ghim and Texas Tech’s Wes Artac are currently tied for third at four-over, 214.
