About the Championship
The 2016 Big 12 Men's Golf Championship was held April 29-May 1 at Whispering Pines Golf Club in Trinity, Texas. The event was hosted by The University of Texas.

The No. 1 nationally ranked Texas Longhorns claimed their fourth-consecutive Big 12 Men’s Golf Championship in impressive fashion, shooting a Big 12 Championship record low -15 (273) on the final day to claim the title.

Oklahoma State’s Stratton Nolen took home the Big 12 Individual Championship by shooting a -6 (282) to win by one stroke. Nolen shot a final round -2 (70) that included birdies on holes 14 and 15 to defeat UT’s Beau Hossler and TCU’s Paul Barjon who finished at -5.

The top 10 individual finishers each season were also named to the Big 12 Championship All-Tournament Team. Five golfers compose a team. The lowest four scores per round from the designated five-player team is used. Scoring is stroke play.

The 2016 Championship was 72 holes played over three days, 36 holes the first day and 18 holes the second and third days. The low four scores out of five over each 18 holes determined the team championship.
