Trio Records Softball Weekly Honors

The Oklahoma duo of Jocelyn Alo and Giselle Juarez, along with Oklahoma State’s Samantha Show earned Big 12 softball weekly awards for the second to last week of regular season play.

Alo and Show took home Big 12 Co-Players of the Week. Alo led the Big 12 in slugging (1.818), hits (7), home runs (4), runs scored (5), RBI (10) and total bases (20). The sophomore also hit her first career grand slam in game one of OU’s doubleheader at ISU. Show hit two home runs against top-15 Texas Tech, including a first-pitch, three-run walk-off home run to clinch the Cowgirls’ third-straight comeback victory and seal the Pokes’ series sweep. The senior’s walk-off home run was her 15th of the season, which ties the OSU single-season record.

Juarez was name Pitcher of the Week, for the third straight week and fifth time this season, after registering her second perfect game of the season on Sunday against Iowa State. The junior became the first Big 12 pitcher since Paige Parker in 2015 to have multiple perfect games in a season. She also led the Big 12 with 22 strikeouts, 12.83 K/7IP and .098 opponent batting average.

This is the first career honor for Show, the second for Alo and fifth for Juarez.
