Final Softball Weekly Honors Swept by Sooners

Oklahoma’s duo of Caleigh Clifton and Giselle Juarez recorded the season’s final Big 12 softball weekly awards.

Clifton was awarded Big 12 Player of the Week, for the third time this season, for her impressive performance against No. 12/13 Oklahoma State. The senior ranked second in the Big 12 in batting average (.500), on-base percentage (.600) and slugging percentage (1.125). She also drove in and scored three runs, both matching OU highs.

Juarez received Pitcher of the Week, for the fourth consecutive week and sixth time this season, after getting a shutout win against the top-15 ranked Cowgirls. The junior pitcher led the Big 12 with 13 strikeouts, 13.00/7 IP and .043 opponent batting average. She was also one of three conference pitchers to register a solo shutout and one of five to finish with a perfect 0.00 ERA this week.

This is the third career honor for Clifton and sixth career honor for Juarez. The Sooners have taken home 16 weekly awards this season, which is the most by any team in conference history.
