Seven Student-Athletes Honored as Google Cloud Academic All-Americans

Baylor’s Jimmy Bendeck, Oklahoma State’s Sofia Blanco, West Virginia’s Abigail Rosiello and Abby Kaufman were all honored as CoSIDA Google Cloud At-Large All-Americans, while affiliate member Northern Colorado saw Rico Montoya recognized as well.

Montoya, a wrestler for the Northern Colorado, garnered first team honors, while Blanco, a third team member last year, earned first team accolades this season. Both Bendeck and Rosiello were named second team members.

Blanco ended her senior campaign with a tie for the second-most wins in singles, 8-1, and doubles action, 6-1.

Through the 2019 season, Bendeck recorded a near-perfect record in Conference doubles action at the No. 1 Doubles spot, 4-1, and earned All-Big 12 First Team honors, alongside teammate Sven Lah.

All three Big 12 tennis student-athletes were tabbed Academic All-Big 12 First Team members, while Bendeck garnered the 2019 Men’s Tennis Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors.

WVU’s Abby Kaufman was tabbed a third team Academic All-American by CoSIDa as a women’s gymnastics student-athlete.

Other sports from Oklahoma and West Virginia saw Sooners men’s gymnast Brian Schibler earn a first team nod on the 2019 ledger, while Mountaineer rifle team member David Koenders was named a third team honoree, respectively.
