Over half of the Big 12’s softball programs are ranked in the D1 Softball Preseason Poll with three in the top 10. No. 2 Oklahoma tops the Conference teams followed by No. 9 Texas, No. 10 Oklahoma State and No. 19 Baylor.
 
The same four teams were rated in the final edition of last season’s D1 Softball Poll on March 9, 2020 when the season was canceled due to COVID-19. Big 12 softball will begin the 2021 campaign in February. Institutions will release schedules when available.
